We will first come and determine that you do indeed have a slab leak and that it is not coming from something else like possibly an AC condensate line. Once we determine that you do have a slab leak we will perform a pressure test on the water lines. We do this because the leak is not always at the location of the water that is showing. The water will take the path of least resistance and this could be several feet from the water. We will do this by isolating the line and pressurizing it. Once the line is pressurized we use very sensitive sound equipment to pinpoint the leak location. Then when we know exactly where the leak is we can tell you how much it is going to cost to repair. Many things go into the price of the repair, but it is mainly based on where the leak is coming from.
